Question: Are the products you sell original? Yes, all our products are original, imported by our suppliers from their respective manufacturers and have all the appropriate licenses.
Question: Are the figures painted and assembled? All figures and statues we sell are painted and ready for display without any assembly. We currently do not sell unpainted model kits but if we do we will state this clearly.
Question: What is the difference between Manga and Anime? Manga is originally the Japanese name for a picture or drawing and was later also adapted as a name for a comic book. Anime is the Japanese name for a cartoon. Figures from manga and anime are famous for their out of the ordinary big eyes and cute ("kawaii") appearance. A lot of figures we sell are based on characters from manga or anime series.
Question: In which quantities are these figures produced? This varies from a dozen to about 20.000 pieces max. Depending on size, scale, quantity manufactured, used material and overall quality price will vary. You can search on the keyword 'Limited' to search for more expensive limited versions. No extra quantities will be made in case demand is higher than expected. In some cases figure might also include a certificate of authenticity or autograph.
Question: What materials are used for the figures? PVC and ABS are different kinds of plastics. PVC is one of the most used plastics around the world. PVC is mainly used for the figures itself and ABS mostly for the base on which the figure stands. ABS is a bit stronger and is also used in LEGO blocks. Coldcast means no heating has been used in the hardening process of the figure. Polystone is a different name for polyethyleen and is quite a bit stronger and heavier than PVC. The larger figures are usually made of polystone.
Question: How exactly are the PVC figures made? First a prototype is made. See the video below (9 parts):
When the prototype is done the actual work is mostly done in China. This is for the largest part done by hand. All the different figure parts are manually paintbrushed and by using cardboard certain sections are skipped or given a different color. After that the parts are glued together and an extra layer of paint is used to mask any visible seams.
Question: Are the figures sold 100% mint? We cannot guarantee a flawless 100% mint figure. The figures are mass produced and hand-painted by employees in the different factories. Figures are genuinely unique therefore and inconsistensies and flaws in finish, painting and showing of seam lines can occur! Most pictures that are published by the manufacturers are from prototypes so differences are to be expected.
Question: Is the packaging undamaged? It's not our goal to sell 100% perfect packaging. Because of needed transport and handling there is no guarantee given that packaging will be in perfect state. There might be a bump or tear in your specific figure packaging but as long as figure itself is without damage we will ship it to you. If you wish a 100% perfect and undamaged packaging ask beforehand and only if the specified item is in stock. If we have to order it with one of our suppliers first we cannot guarantee a 100% perfect packaging.
Question: Why is there incorrect English language on the packaging? The figures we sell are mainly based on Japanese manga and anime characters and are intended to be sold to collectors in Japan and Japanese is the main language. Japanese are not known for their fluent English and an English translation on the box might not be 100% correct.
Question: How do I keep my PVC figures in good shape? First of all place your figure horizontally in a sturdy place to prevent any bending of the figure. Avoid places with high humidity, direct sunlight or places near heat sources like a stove or hot lamp. Do not use water or any other cleaning fluids to clean your figures, but do dust them regularly. This way you can keep your figures in tip top shape.
Question: Where can I find more information on Manga and Anime figures? We have different links to manufacturers on our Links page. Keep in mind a lot of sites are in Japanese only. The site of Danny Choo is one of our favourites.
AVAILABILITY
Question: Why are some items out of stock for such a long time? Because of our low stock policy we mainly work with preorders for new items. If you are really interested in buying an item you should really preorder that item. If you are too late you can still put the item on your wishlist and you will receive an email if it is available at one of our suppliers.
Question: An item's expected date has expired. What now? It could be that an item has not come in yet because it was delayed by the distributor. We try to regularly update the expected date. If you have made a preorder there is no need to worry.
ORDERING/SHIPPING
Question: Why are your shipping costs so high? Remember the high fuel prices worldwide and the high euro rate. These make up for high(er) shipping prices. On the other hand think about prices if you would pick up the product personally and shipping costs are suddenly much cheaper. As for the prices, they are official TNT Post prices with an extra €0.50 or so for packaging and handling costs. Take a look at the official prices here:
Question: Do you ship by UPS/DHL? We currently do not and do not have plans to do so on short notice.
Question: Why can I only choose Priority shipping and not Standard shipping? Standard shipping is only possible for orders lower than 2kg.
Question: Why do you charge a Paypal/creditcard fee? Paypal does offer free payments for non-business users, but as business user we do have to pay a fee of €0.35 + 3.4% for every order. As we do not wish to raise our prices to offer 'free' Paypal payments we have decided to charge a flat 3.5% fee for Paypal orders.
Question: I still haven't received my package. Where is it? During checkout you can see the estimated time of arrival (ETA) noted with your shipment option. You will need to add up these number of days (excluding Saturdays and Sundays) to the shipping date to get your expected arrival date. This is the date the item should have arrived. If you have a barcode you can use the link supplied in the email to check its whereabouts or you can try your local postal carrier with the barcode. If there is no barcode attached there is not much to do then wait for a week or two extra in hope it will arrive then. If it still hasn't please get in contact so we can ask TNT Post to start an official investigation.
PAYMENT
Question: I have mistakenly chosen Paypal as payment option. What now? Please do not make a new order. Please check the Paypal fee on your email confirmation and substract this from the total amount. This amount can now be paid by (IBAN) bank transfer. We will adjust the order later.
Question: I have mistakenly chosen Bank transfer instead of Paypal. What now? Please do not make a new order. Get in contact with us to change your order.
WEBSITE
Question: Which browser should I use? In any case not Internet Explorer 6 or lower. We do not support it anymore. Anything upward should work fine. We personally recommend Firefox.
